The Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, established in the 1980s, is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtlesIt's one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, located on the coastline of Kosgoda. The hatchery focuses on collecting and incubating eggs in a controlled environment, releasing hatchlings back into the ocean when they are ready. It also works to rehabilitate injured adult turtles.
